About us

Tornahem inc. is a familly owned real-estate company that was founded in 2005. We comission real estate, primarilly houses with right of tennancy. Most of our property is then managed by ourselves at Tornahem. We are active in Skåne, so far in Lund and Malmö. We have successfully cooparteted with Gunilla Svenssons Arkitektkontor and we are proud that Gunilla Svensson in 2009 was awarded a the yearly city planning prize of Lund for her design of Tornahems appartment house at Vipeholm in Lund.

Environmental thinking at Tornahem

Tornahem inc. work activly with environmental issues. Our houes are built to have a very low energy consuption. This means, among others things, that the windows have tripple glasing and are constructed with a new energy safe type of glass and helps reduce the loss of heat through windows. Walls and celing have extra thick insulation.

The ventilation system has a built in heat recycler which helps re-use the heat when exchanging air.

To encourage a lower energy consumption there is a meter for electricity and warm water in each appartment.

In our house Briggen 4 in Malmö each appartment is equipped with a kitchen disposer. Each disposer is directly connected to a local biogas production unit in the neighbourhood. In this way the kitchen waste of households is used to produce biogas for the cars and buses of Malmö City.

Tornahem now only uses biogas for driving within the company.
